We are completing our studies of Africa with our Unit Test on Wednesday. We will begin the geography of China on Thursday. Please remember when your current event presentation will be and make sure you are getting prepared for that.

Thanksgiving Week
Happy Thanksgiving!! I can't believe it is already here. Time is flying by!
We will not have our test over Africa until after Thanksgiving.
MONDAY: Think dots activity - students will be assigned a specific activity to show their learning about either West African kingdoms or Central and Southern kingdoms. They will create their products in class and present them.
TUESDAY: Complete presentations. Perform a Thanksgiving play in class.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I have so much to be grateful for, my family, my colleagues, and the wonderful students I teach. Thank you for your concern and how you support your child. Have a great break!

TUESDAY: Read pgs. 157-169 on West African Kingdoms, complete note-taking template.
WEDNESDAY: Read pgs.188-199 on Central and Southern African Kingdoms, complete notes.
Homework: Study for quiz over notes (Chapter 5 and 6).
THURSDAY: Quiz over notes.
FRIDAY: Share Griot family stories.
NOTE: Please encourage your child to take time with their Daily Geo-bellwork every day! These are graded each Friday.

TUESDAY: African Map Test. Finish sharing projects. African Kingdoms Worksheet due Wednesday.
WEDNESDAY: Students will read about West African Culture and Kingdoms. They will answer questions using constructed response.
THURSDAY: Students will read Chapter 5, (pgs. 151-169) for background information, and take notes.
