Week of February 25-March 1

This week in Social Studies:

Monday:  End of Course 1st Semester Exam.  Research Renaissance Inventions report.
Homework:  Renaissance Inventions report if not completed in class
Tuesday:  Ch. 13 vocabulary.  We will examine the factors that led to the Renaissance.
Homework:  None
Wednesday:  Meth Presentations in all classes.
Thursday:  Ch 13, Lesson 1 using the literacy strategy, "My Reading Worksheet" to get most important information.
Homework:  None
Friday:  Current Event presentations.  Jr. Scholastic article on Gun Control. 
Homework:  None

Week of February 19-22

We all enjoyed hearing all about the Middle Ages through the project presentations. 
This week in Social Studies:
Tuesday:  We will complete Chapter 10, Lesson 4 and note-taking.  We will discuss the changes in the legal system and government during this time period.
Homework:  Medieval Europe Unit test Friday
Wednesday:  History Alive Feudalism simulation.  Students will compare and contrast the lives of nobles, knights, and serfs.
Homework: Medieval Europe Unit test Friday.
Thursday:  Chapter 9 and 10 study guide assigned. 
Homework:  Medieval Europe Unit Test Friday
Friday:  Medieval Europe Unit Test.  Current Event presentations.

Week of February 11-15

This week in Social Studies we will continue our projects on Medieval Europe. All projects are due!!

Monday: Project presentations
Homework:  All projects due!
Tuesday: Project presentations
Homework: None
Wednesday: Students will complete a graphic organizer while reading about the Crusades and their significance to this time period. They will write a summary from their notes.
Thursday: Students will describe the changes in the legal system of England.  Study guide for Unit Test given out. Due by end of class on Friday.
Friday: Current Event presentations.  Study guide completed and review for Unit Test.

UNIT TEST OVER MEDIEVAL EUROPE ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH

Week of Feb. 4-8

A big SHOUT OUT to Dr. Toll (Zach's dad) for being our guest speaker this past Thursday! Thank you for giving us your time! 
REMINDER:  Medieval Europe projects due Friday, February 8th.

This week in Social Studies:
Monday:  We will examine what daily life was like during the Middle Ages.  We will also have current event presentations.
Homework:  None
Tuesday:  We will analyze why the church was so powerful in Medieval Europe.  We will use a graphic organizer for note-taking.
Homework:  Complete chart if not completed during class.
Wednesday:  Character Education.  We will explain the reasons for the Crusades and read in our textbook.  We will create a foldable to show what we have learned.
Homework:  Complete foldable.
Thursday:  We will read about the Hundred Years' War and the Black Death.  Students will use an outline format for note-taking.
Homework:  Complete outline if not completed during class.
Friday:  PROJECTS DUE!!
