Monday:  Meet in Lab 171 for an African Cyberhunt!

Tuesday:  Meet in Lab 171 to complete cyberhunt. Begin the summary of an African story.
Homework:  Complete summary if not completed in lab.

Wednesday:  Travel Guide for Chapter 6.  Close reading while working on travel guide.
Homework:  Complete Travel Guide if not completed in class.

Thursday:  Current Event presentations.  Grade Ch 5 close reading notes for review. 
Homework: None

Friday:  Chapter 6 open-book quiz.
Homework: None

Week of October 14-18

NOTE:  Parent Teacher Conferences: If you would like a conference with your child's team, please call the office to set up the day and time.  Conference dates are Monday, October 28 from 3:00-7:30, and Wednesday, October 30 from 3:00-5:30.

Monday: Complete close reading notes for Chapter 5. We will read about the salt and gold trade in Africa and use a 4 square note-taking strategy.
Homework:  None

Tuesday:  Create a poster with your topic from the theme books, Salt.  Share with the class in a gallery walk.

Wednesday:  End of first quarter.  NO SCHOOL for students:)

Thursday:  Guided reading assignment for Unit 3, section 1 and 2.

Monday: Label the political and physical map of Africa including the West African kingdoms. 
Homework:  Edmodo assignment due tonight.  Complete maps if not completed in class.Quiz over map on Friday.

Tuesday:  Define all vocabulary for Africa unit. Review maps for quiz.
Homework:  Study for Africa map quiz on Friday.

Wednesday:  Outline the 4 regions of Africa using notes from PowerPoint.  Using textbook for close reading, fill in the blank notes for Chapter 5.
Homework:  Study for Africa map quiz on Friday.

Thursday: Complete all notes by close reading Chapter 5 in textbook.
Homework:  Study for Africa map quiz tomorrow.
