The Nutrition Services Department is conducting several surveys to evaluate the quality of services and products being provided to students. These surveys have been written specifically for parents/guardians.

In order to better understand what we are currently doing to satisfy our students and identify areas which might need improvement, we would like to have this survey returned by April 1, 2013.

I would like to personally ask for your assistance in completing this online survey. By participating, you can share your thoughts about our Nutrition Services Department.

The survey is anonymous. Your input will help us identify areas for improvement.

Week of March 25-29

This week in social studies:

Monday:  Discuss all document analysis for DBQ.  Categorize documents into "buckets" for body paragraphs.  Write out the thesis statement.
Homework:  Complete bucketing and thesis.

Tuesday:  Reformation:  Analyze the causes and effects of the Reformation and Counter Reformation.  Vocabulary definitions and powerpoint notes.
Homework:  Complete all vocabulary if needed.

Wednesday:  Guided reading questions over pages 461-479 using textbook as a resource. 
Homework:  Complete guided reading if needed.

Thursday:  Jigsaw sections in Chapter 14 using template for notetaking.
Homework:  None

Friday:  Article on Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation.  Quiz over information.  Current event presentations.
Homework:  None

Week of March 18-22

Welcome back! I hope everyone has enjoyed their spring break, and you are ready for the last quarter of your 7th grade year.  I encourage you to stay focused on your responsibilites, and work hard to be the best you can be! 

This week in Social Studies:

Monday:  We reviewed the Renaissance vocabulary and developed expert knowledge of the 4 leading scientists of that time period. 
Homework:  Complete writing prompt if not completed in class.

Tuesday: We begin our 2nd semester DBQ! We will be introduced to the analytical question you must answer, and we will analyze the background essay for important information.  Assignment:  Background essay questions to focus your knowledge.
Homework:  Complete essay questions if not completed in class.

Wednesday:  We will analyze documents A and B in order to form our thesis statement.
Homework:  None

Thursday:  We will analyze documents C and D in order to form our thesis statement.
Homework:  None

Friday:  Current event presentations.  We will analyze documents E and F in order to form our thesis statement.
Homework:  Have a great weekend!

Week of March 4-8

Spring break is right around the corner! Make sure all of your assignments are turned in, and work hard this week!

This week in Social Studies:
Monday:  Students analyzed a primary document, and identified the features of a Rennaissance Man.
Homework:  None
Tuesday: Studens will read an article on DaVinci and use the literacy strategy THEIVES to summarize important information.
Wednesday:  Renaissance notes, and jigsaw article on Renaissance. 
Homework: None
Thursday:  Quiz over Lesson 1-2, Chapter 13. 
Homework:  Have a great spring break!!!
